Student Life
Practical Ministry
Harvest West Bible College believes in the local church. Our program of practical ministry enables you to be involved with your local church (or para-church) ministries. Typically, you will gain experience in songleading, giving testimonies, leading children's and youth activities, cell groups, leading in communion and preaching. It is 'hands-on' experience through participating in church life.
Harvest West is involved in assisting the local church in the planting and nurture of churches, thus providing even greater scope for hands-on experience.
Internships
Our Certificate IV in Ministry (Specialisation) offers you the opportunity to attend classes 2 days a week and work under the supervision of your Pastor 2-3 days a week in your local church. Specialisations for the Internship Program include: Youth Ministry, Pastoral Leadership, Children's Ministry, Creative Arts, Intercultural Ministry and Pastoral Counselling. All Internships are available full-time and part-time.
Our Youth Ministry and Pastoral Leadership internships now continue into the Diploma of Ministry (Specialisation). If you currently hold a Certificate IV and want to continue onto the Diploma in an internship, please contact the College for more information.
Daily Chapel
We have Chapel every day after lunch. Chapel is a time of praise and worship to our Lord, coupled with times of sharing, practice of your gifts, devotional messages and prayer. One Chapel each week is dedicated to missions.
Student Council
The Student Council is made up of 6 elected students from the student body, and assists the students with all aspects of student life.
The College Library
The Jenni Roche Memorial Library contains more than 12,000 volumes, and is being added to on a regular basis. These books are primarily the latest books and directly related to the subjects we lecture.
The library at present has several computers available for students to produce their assignments. The college is connected to the Internet so that major libraries around the world may be accessed. Bachelor Degree students are strongly encouraged to enrol into otherTheological College Libraries to make use of their journals. Harvest West has Proquest and other such online journals available for use on campus or the comfort of your own home.
